It’s a good feeling that Pakistan will be hosting Badminton Tournament internationally. Pakistan is going to host International Series Badminton Tournament this year in the month of November which will provide as qualifying round for the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Wajid Ali Chaudhry, Secretary of Pakistan Badminton Federation (PBF), told that overall there will be a total of 35 to 40 international teams which are going to participate in the event of Tokyo Olympics. It will be held at the Pakistan Sports Complex, and the occasion dates are from November 7 to 11.
He further added that “The occasion which would also become the foundation in serving as a qualifying round for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. It has been officially approved by the Badminton World Federation (WBF) and Badminton Asia (BA)”. He further added that the series had also been incorporated it in the BWF events of 2019 calendar.
The BA Chairman Development Committee, Wajid, alleged that the federation was entirely committed for the promotion of the badminton in the country.
He affirmed that none other than Mahnoor Shahzad, as she is the only Pakistani badminton player who will be sent for one-month severe training to Denmark in September. He also told the training dates that it would continue from September 1 to 30.
Cost of training: He also enlightened the expenditure on the training at the APP, “We will be paying US$ 8,000 for her training at the academy through Asia Olympic Project (AOP) Program.
Achievement: Mahnoor prevailed against the Annapurna Corporate Invitational International Badminton Tournament Championship in the year 2018 that was held in Kathmandu, Nepal.
He further added that she was also preferred for the AOP Program for the training of Olympic Games. Previously, Mahnoor had won the women singles title, here in Pakistan International Series 2017 in Islamabad.
