It was assumed that the murder of social media star was done allegedly by her two brothers. Her parents recently submitted an affidavit on Wednesday in a Multan court that they have let off the killers of their daughter.

Waseem, who is Qandeel’s brother, had grasped her life into death just in the name of “Honor” at their house in the year 2016. He himself confessed later that he killed her because she was unable to bring justice to the Baloch name. Her videos and statements also got posted on social media. Her brother, Aslam Shaheen was too nominated in the case.

In case of honor killings, the constitution directs life imprisonment but whether a murder can be defined as a crime of honor is left to the judge’s good judgment.

The affidavit also includes that the accusations put on Qandeel Baloch were “contrary to facts.” Her parents also requested the court to set free the suspects under Section 345 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

What court responds: The court, in response, call upon the lawyers who were representing the prosecution in the murder case as well as the counsel for Baloch’s parents.

The parents of assassinated social media star had once also applied for the court in order to wrap up the murder case before. They also said that they had forgiven both their sons. Their appeal got dismissed with the judge mentioning the anti-honor killing law.

Qandeel Baloch’s parents have at first declared not to forgive the alleged murders after the law has been passed in October 2016. Her father Mohammad Azeem had told AFP “There is no pardon from our side,” and called for his son as well as the three co-accused to be punished “at the most primitive basis.” Her father said at the time I will consider myself happy if they should get life imprisonment or even death.
