Purpose of launching Zyote Z100:
Pakistan has launched its first electric car company with China to lessen out the carbon emission that comes out of fuel in the atmosphere. Another motive is to scale down annual oil import bills.
The partnership among Pakistan and China has come up in the shape of the first electronic car company, Topsun Motors.
Inauguration of Topsun Motors:
The Company inaugurated its showrooms in Lahore on 3rd January 2020. Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed who is working as a Provincial Minister of Punjab for housing, urban development, and public health engineering, grace the inauguration of the Topsun Motors.
Topsun Motors initiated four models that comprise of the hatchback and three models of JMC. Topsun Motors instigated 1000cc Zyote’s Z100 hatchback. They have also introduced JMC in two variants: single and double cabin.
Zyote Z100 costs PKR 1,490,000 as quoted by the Topsun Motors. The quoted price of JMC Single Cabin is PKR 2,950,000 whereas JMC Double Cabin cost is PKR 3,950,000 and JMC Vigus 2.4-litre is PKR 5,015,000. These prices include the withholding tax.
The cars mentioned above are all engine-based. The Zyote Z100 is now available in the worldwide market. As the company said that they will later introduce an electronic version of the Zyote Z100 with a slight change in its shape after the introduction of the electric vehicle policy by the government.
What will be the cost of electronic Zyote Z100:
The Company claims that the electronic version of the Zyote Z100 will go 300 KM on a single battery charge and the price is estimated to be around PKR 1.9 to 2 million.
Competition with FAW and KIA:
The present model of Zyote Z100 is supporting a 1000cc engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The company is going to introduce an automatic version in the second phase. The hatchback is at the same level as the Suzuki Wagon R and Cultus. Well, it is expected to compete with FAW V2 and KIA Picanto.
JMC Vigus 4×4:
Now this is based on a 2.4-liter engine along with a twin-power charger. It will compete with Toyota Revo and Isuzu D-Max in the Pakistan automobile sector.
What is the Government’s mission behind the electronic car?
The purpose to introduce an electronic car company in Pakistan is part of the government’s mission to trim down the carbon emission and oil import bill. In the primary phase, almost 30% of the cars are likely to be shifted to electronics by the year 2030. According to the Adviser to PM on Climate Change, Malik Amin Aslam, Pakistan is anticipated to save $2billion per annum on its oil imports.
The provincial minister summoned China’s all-embracing support in helping Pakistan. Because of such help, Pakistan gets its first electronic car company. He further added that this will also facilitate Pakistan to move towards its aim of technical advancement.
